Q: What is best hard-drive for saving/storing FCPX Library files?

Hi,

what is best hard drive for saving/storing FCPX files?

Just been told my Apple Airport Time Capsule will not

save/store my FCPX Libraries.

Seems backwards-thinking to me that one Apple product won't save/store

the files of another Apple product.

Does anyone know if this is a good external hard drive in which to

save/store FCPX Libraries?:

LaCie Porsche Design P'9233 3TB USB 3.0 7200RPM Desktop Mac External Hard Drive

Thank you.

Final Cut Pro X, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

A Time Capsule or Time Machine designated drive has specific purposes and behaviors. . They activate at specific times controlled by the Time Machine software and they read/write files slowly with error correction. You do not wany the drive to suddenly start doing this while you're trying to stream multiple large video and audio files. There are sensible reasons why these drives are excluded from being used as media drives for Final Cut.

TToo many variables what type of program are you editing? What type of media? How much effects processing? How many streams of media? Generally the biggest and fastest you can afford with the best redundancy. At least USB3. Then Thunderbot. And if you can Thunderbolt RAID5. Also dependents on how portable you need to be.
