Q: flash player out of date

Despite getting the obnoxious message that the flash player is "out of date" and downloading and installing Flash, I still get the same message and blocks videos from the internet.

Thanks,

RBR

    Hi,

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Updates tab then click Check Now.

That will take you through the update process for Flash.

What version did you install? The current version is 22.0.0.192.

I solved the problem by force closing Safari and then reinstalling the latest version of Flash Player.  There must have been a residual block on the Safari even though I closed it but did not force quit Safari.

Maybe this is a quirk of Apple having recently converted from PC and trying to give the Mac a fair chance to prove itself!!!!

Thanks for the info.  Not sure how to find the v. on a Mac!  I am a recovering PC User and could find the program on my PC.  I checked in the Launchpad and did not find Flash Player!  See my next note, that I did solve the issue, however.  Thanks for your help

Usually, the easiest way to find a version # is to select the file's icon. Press Command-I to open the Get Info window or CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Get Info from the context menu. In the topmost panel, you should find the version information for the file. Be sure you are looking at the file and not the download bundle or an installer which may have other versions. Here's an example of what I mean:

Another way is to run the application in question then select About Easy Find from the Easy Find menu:

The above relates to Easy Find. For different files you would use that file's name in the above two example images.
