Q: photo albums

I had a book (photo album)  ready to order, but I was asked constantly to change the lay-out of certain pages.

It seems that it is not possible to leave e.g. photo frames open. I do that because I put on certain pages a photo in the background which will then be better visible through the open frames.

Please help me answer this question. Why has Apple changed this. I have left frames open before and then I was, before sending it, always asked if I wanted  to send it as I made it.

I'm going to hate Apple. First they changed the photo books options and now this.

Please help.

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Are you trying to order a book made in iPhoto or in Photos for Mac?  I am asking, because you are posting in the iPhoto forum.

Apple does no longer support printing books from iPhoto, only from Photos for Mac. So you will not be able to submit an order for the book from iPhoto.

In Photos for Mac you cannot order a book with empty photos placeholders. But you can simply drop a screenshot of the empty page into the photos place holder so there will be something included and the box is not empty.

You posted in the iPhoto forum - you can not order any print products with iPhoto anymore - all print products are discontinued

As to Photos - you can not order books with unfilled photo frames (and you never have been able to in iPhoto either - both programs require that all photos frames have photos in them and always have)

So please explain what you have  --  and not ethat providing accurate details helps - wasting time with weird, inaccurate editorials does not help in any way

Thanks Léonie. Your suggestion of the screenshot worked. I'm not longer working in iPhoto by the way. From Photos for Mac now. I'm really sorry that I can't make books in ring binders anymore. Do you know if Apple is going to introduce those again soon? I might not be the only one who likes them better than the other books.

There has not been any announcement about the print products during the WWDC 2016, when the changes to Photos for Mac were discussed, so I have no idea.  It cannot hurt to send feedback to Apple with a feature request:   Feedback - Photos - Apple
