Q: Why doesn't swipe & scroll functions not work?

Based on what you stated, it seems you may be experiencing an issue with certain gestures not working with a Mac running OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Looking at the tech specs of the Magic Mouse 2, it requires Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan, so you will need update the OS X software of your Mac.
