Q: Apple Watch staying locked when on wrist
Hi
So my Apple Watch (42mm sport) running WatchOS 2.2.1 keeps needing to be unlocked when on my wrist. I've had this problem before and used a system of turning off the watch and my phone and found that successful, but now cannot remember the process. Can anyone tell me the process for this? I found it in another discussion but now cannot find it again.
Also, just to let you know I have also tried the following and all have not worked:
- Turning watch off
- tuening phone off
- hard and soft reset
- disconnecting watch from phone.
The only method that he worked is the process of turning off the watch and phone in a set order, but I cannot remember it!!
Help!

Hi
You may be referring to this process: turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first.
However, it should not be necessary to keep restarting your devices in order for your watch not to keep locking whilst being worn.
Check that Wrist Detection is turned on:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection.
Also check that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly on the top of your wrist:
