Q: My icloud wont start the erasing process until my ipod is connected to wifi, which it is, but nothing is happening

So I am currently trying to erase a device from my icloud account and it says that the erasing process will start once my ipod is connected to the internet. But the thin is that my ipod is already connected to the internet and its been 30 minutes and nothing has changed. Any help?

    Hi, Ortegac!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. From the information you provided, I understand you are trying to utilize the iCloud website to erase your iPod. When you do, you receive a notification that states the erase will begin when your iPod is connected to the internet--even though the iPod is connected to the internet. I know there are a variety of situations where erasing your iPod through the website can be convenient, and want to help make sure it works as expected. I've got a few things you can try.

    1. If you have more than one iPod, make sure you are selecting the correct iPod under the All Devices section at the top of the Find My iPhone page in iCloud.

    2. If you still have your iPod in your possession (or can contact someone who does), try restarting it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your iPhone, and slide to power off when prompted. Once the iPod is fully off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

    3. As above, if you still have your iPod in your possession (or can contact someone who does), remove it from the network, and then rejoin the network. Under Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the "i" next to the connected network. At the top of the next page, click "Forget This Network". Then, locate the network from the Wi-Fi networks list; tap to rejoin. If the network requires a password to join, you will be prompted to enter it to join, so make sure you (or the person who has the iPod) has that password available.

If you continue to experience issues connecting your iPod to the internet, try these additional troubleshooting steps:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

    Cheers!
