Q: USB disappeared from Network Preferences

USB no longer appears as a Network option for connecting to my iPhone 6 through Hotspot. I've turned off & on iTunes; I've downloaded & reinstalled iTunes; I've turned wifi off & on on my MacAir & my iPhone, turned Hotspot off & on, clicked on the little + button in Network prefs to look for USB... nothing. I used to have a bunch of options, but now I only have three (see attached pic). Using Macbook Air Yosemite & iPhone 6 IOS 9.3.2 and iTunes is 12.4.1.6.

    Hello ericesad,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that when viewing your Network Preferences you no longer see a USB internet connection option. I know how important it is for you to be able to connect to the internet via USB. The following article as the steps to set up a Personal Hotspot via USB with your iPhone.

Thank you, I guess, for what appears to be an automated response to some key words in my question. If simply turning on Hotspot and plugging in my USB cable solved the problem then I wouldn't have had a problem to begin with.

To reiterate, I used to connect to the internet on my Macbook Air via my iPhone's USB cable, with Hotspot activated. Then, the USB option disappeared from the Network Preferences on my MacBook Air. Now, I can no longer connect to the internet via a USB connection to my iPhone.

Thank you for any help anyone may be able to provide.
