Q: Downloading LibreOffice
Apple support directed me to download LibreOffice which will allow me to open old ClarisWorks and AppleWorks documents. LibreOffice wouldn't let me download anything until I made a voluntary donation. When I did so all I got was a thank you note, but no download. When I go back to the Download page I am once again asked for a donation. When I go thru the process again I get a note that says that the transaction has already been processed. I don't think that Apple should be sending their customers to this bogus website.

Hello,
do you use the standard site to download LibreOffice : https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I.e. normally, when you click on "Download version 5.1.4" button, the download of the application must start (at least this works with Safari) and the page changes to propose to choose another minor site if the download does not start or to do a donation...
Notes:
- you can also find a free version of LibreOffice Vanilla in the Mac App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/libreoffice-vanilla/id921923693?mt=12 , this version is slightly different from the standard site version, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice_Vanilla_for_Mac and had some limitations which do not exist in the standard version,
- to be complete there also exists a paid version of LibreOffice on the Mac App Store: "Collabora Office" but you probably do not need it...
