Q: Dialog not showing up for Set up your Apple TV with your iOS device

When I followed the instruction listed here: Set up your Apple TV (4th generation) - Apple Support

There is no dialog on my iOS device with version 9.3 installed. Is there something amiss?

My steps:

1. Connect Apple TV to power + TV via HDMI, showing up properly on TV

2. Set up remote + pick language + region worked. Then I choose option to set up with iOS device

3. Got to the screen "Set Up Your Apple TV"

I unlocked my iOS device, enabled Bluetooth, and hold device right next to the Apple TV

Not seeing any dialog.

I repeat the same thing by locking and unlocking the device. Disable/Enable bluetooth. Nothing happened.

Did I miss something or some settings might prevent it from working?

It was also not connected to Internet via Ethernet at the time, is it required?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2, null

If you are unable to set up your networking options via Bluetooth from your phone you should continue to do it manually.

Yeah. It is working on WIFI. Should I turn WiFi on or off?

Yes it worked for me, but it doesn't set everything up for you, I wouldn't waste anymore time with it and just do it manually.

My concern is more with the Bluetooth device pairing issue. When i get it set up, I still won't see any devices in Bluetooth section. It is supposed to pair with bluetooth keyboard at least, right?

Once it's set up it will pair with a keyboard. During set up it only connects to your phone, after its set up it won't pair with your phone. The only time it works with your phone is during set up.
