Q: iPhotos
I own an old iMac 8.1 version. I have close to 10,000 photos organized in to various events. I have keyed in a description to each of these photos, so that I can easily identify what is on the photo. With the current software on my iMac, I am able to view my photos in a slide show by opting for a display of the descriptions. Thus, while the slide show is on, I am able to identify what is on the photo.
Since the iMac is a bit old, I wish to change to the latest version of iMac. My only concern is about transferring the photos with all descriptions intact. Will I be able to do this? In the new version of iMac, will I be able to see my photos in slideshow with a display of the description?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The descriptions will be transferred, when the iPhoto Library is converted to a Photos library.
But Photos does not yet allow to display the descriions when you view a slideshow. You will be only able to see the descriptions, when you open the Info panel for a photo.
If a photo has titles, you will be able to see the titles below the thumbnails of a photo in the browser. But for a slideshow you have to add title solidest a photo, if you want to see the descriptions or titles.
