Q: Can't login to Mac Mini Server with Remote Desktop after 10.11 upgrade

HI there,

After upgrading to 10.11, Remote Desktop won't login remotely. I've tried;

1. Removing the previous server from Remote Desktop and re-connecting

2. Ensuring remote management is on in the Server's preferences

Remote Desktop complains that screen sharing isn't on but on the server, the preference Is greyed out with a message stating that screen sharing is being managed by the remote management service?

Does anyone know how to connect to a 10.11 sever using Remote Desktop?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ben

Screen Sharing can not be checked while remote management is checked.

If your using Apple Remote Desktop, You want remote management checked. (Not Screen Sharing)

If your uncheck, and then recheck remote management it should restart ARD Agent on the Mac Server. And hopefully you'll be able to connect.

If you still can't connect, click on remote management you could try rebuilding the settings.

    set allow access to all

    click options

check: observe, control, show, generate report, open, change, delete, start, restart, copy (basically checking every thing)

    click ok

    If you still can't connect

    try

set allow access to only these users

click + add the account you want to connect with

select that account from the list

    click options

check: observe, control, show, generate report, open, change, delete, start, restart, copy (basically checking every thing)

    click ok

    If you still can't connect

try uncheck and re-checking remote management to restart ARD Agent again.

If you still can't connect you may want to check remote management settings from the Mac OS X Server App.
