Q: Can you use a prepaid card with Apple Pay?
I've seen that only 2 prepaid card brands are compatible with Apple Pay, however that list was from
when Apple Pay first came out so I wasn't sure if there were more prepaid card brands that are now compatible.
iPhone 5c, iOS 9.3.2

Hi
Some prepaid cards from some issuers are supported. In the US, for example, these presently include the Chase Liquid® prepaid card and prepaid cards from Wells Fargo.
In order to use Apple Pay, your card must be a supported card from a participating issuer. However, not all cards that are issued by any given participating bank are necessarily supported for use with Apple Pay.
Apple does not publish a list of supported cards (whether prepaid or not).
To find out whether any particular prepaid card is supported for Apple Pay, you can either:
- Contact the card issuer / bank and/or check their website;
- Try adding the card (you will be advised if it cannot be added).
