Q: OS X 10.7.5 with Safari 6.1.6 safe?

A friend of mine has a MacbookPro (early 2011). He still runs OS X Lion (latest version 10.7.5). He can't upgrade to a higher version of OS X because otherwise some programs will not run anymore. So he is obliged to keep working with 10.7.5.

He wonders if using Safari (6.1.6) on this config is still safe? It seems that updating Safari is not possible in OS X 10.7.5, or is it?
