Q: Syncing iPod Playlists

I am unable to get my iPod Classic to sync to a new playlist.

  • My iTunes is running version 12.4.1
  • I have about 146 GB memory left on my iPod Classic
  • The diagnostic Device Sync Tests keeps saying No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found" but I'm still able to purchase, download and sync songs to previous Playlists on my computer iTunes library and to my previous iPod Class mp3
  • My computer runs on Windows 10 - could that be causing the problem?
  • When I connect my iPod Classic to my computer it says it is connected and it says I'm Syncing, but when it gets done - the new Playlist does not show up on the iPod

I don't know what to do next

    Hey rodger186,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I know it's important to be able to sync all of your music to your iPod, so I'm happy to provide you some direction to get this playlist working well for you again.

To start, make sure you are following all of the steps in the article below. This article also has some alternate methods for syncing, which you may want to try as well.

iTunes 12 for Windows: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad

If you continue to have issues with this particular playlist after going through those articles, then try "removing" the playlist from your iPod by going to the Sync Music screen for your iPod, and unchecking the playlist in question and sync. Once you've synced the playlist off of your iPod, select and sync it again.

You may also want to try adding some of these tracks to a new playlist and syncing that, to see if there are maybe specific tracks that could be causing this issue for you.

These steps should help you isolate the cause of your issues.

Have a great rest of your day, cheers!
