Apr 30, 2016 11:33 AM in response to pinkstonesby Thailand Amulets,Yes of course. Im talking about autoshow sidebar when the cursor approaches the vicinity of the left side of browser, not showing sidebar as a constant view. I always have show sidebar deactivated. I delete all bookmarks and reading lists and shared links, because i don't use those functions. i also dont share tabs in safari icloud for ios too so thats also not the reason
I don't think its possible yet to deactivate, and i don't think it ever will be. I believe that safari is designed for people consuming content and reading, but that Apple are not catering for webmasters or content creators who use a browser to do actual work with. So in such a case, the sidebar would not be so bothersome, but for people who use the cursor to click and type with in text editors, its a real scourge

If you don't want the sidebar to pop out from the left when your cursor is over there, don't use Safari in Full Screen mode.

May 5, 2016 3:22 PM in response to Bazza Jby guitarrgirl,THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! Such a much easier fix than all the other responses. I was just about to try Terminal commands. I dunno how that sidebar got turned on—I certainly didn't do it, as I abhor that infernal thing, but thanks heaps for directing to the solution. Your post should be the top answer.

Jun 26, 2016 2:19 PM in response to onthebeach625by erb1991,@Evster87: Please read the problem description carefully. Of course it's not that easy and as far as I know there's still no adequate solution to the present day.

Jun 26, 2016 3:16 PM in response to onthebeach625by erb1991,@onthebeach625: That's not how it works! The problem appears, when you run Safari in FULLSCREEN mode and move the curser to the left edge of the screen. The "hide sidebar" setting in the toolbar doesn't work here.

Sep 10, 2016 12:01 PM in response to Evster87by hashim711,Click on system preferences, then on Dock and then click on left. This will move your dock to the left and some how it fixes the sidebar issue. That's the only solution I have discovered.
