Q: garageband keeps poping up at start up

Garageband keeps opening by itself after I put in my password.I right click on the icon clicked on options and I made sure

that the  'open at login ' is unchecked.I also went on 'Users and Groups' and made sure that it was not a login in item at start up.But nothing works,I put my password in after boot up and Garageband starts up.Does anybody knows how to stop Garageband from doing that.Thanks.

    Hello bloomdido,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I understand how having GarageBand open automatically on your Mac when you log into your user is not what you expect!

Based on what you stated, it seems you may be having issues with your startup preferences, and checking the Login Items in Users & Groups and right clicking on the app in the Dock are great places to start. Since those steps didn’t work, I would recommend using these steps to narrow down if this issue is user specific or system wide, and possibly resolve this issue.

    1. First, try starting up into Safe Mode. This will start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up

Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode

    2. You can log in as another user to figure out if unexpected behavior is related to a specific user's settings or files.

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

    Cheers!
