Q: Sound Browser is Blank

I've been using FCPX for a long time with no problem. Suddenly, today, when I open the Sound Browser (or Photo Browser) the window is entirely blank. None of my sound effects or iTunes or anything at all appears in the window.

I'm on the latest version of FCPX and El Capitan. I have not upgraded any software recently. I have deleted preferences and rebooted my machine. Still, the windows are blank.

Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but it didn't work.

However a reinstall of the OS did the trick.

A few users have had similar issues recently.
Try what Tom suggests.
Close FCP X then restart holding Option-Command.
You will have an option to reset the Preferences,

I started FCP X with Option Command - Selected Delete Preferences. I then rebooted. My preferences were trashed, but I still have a blank sound and music browser as well as a blank photo browser. Is there something else I can try?

Sorry you had to do that OS thing, what a drag. But I want to thank you for closing your thread with your solution. Hardly anyone ever does that around here, they just abandon the conversation. Did you close your thread over at fcp.co?
