Q: Home videos not working after rebuild

Hi after a complete rebuild of my IMac I transferred my iTunes library by pasting my  old 'iTunes' folder into the first column of the Finder/Favorites/Music and replaced the existing 'iTunes' folder. The problem I have is the movies that I had are not visible in iTunes Movies, and I cant reimport them into iTunes.

I can see my movies in Music./iTunes/ITunes Media/Home Videos. But in iTunes Movies I can only select the options My Movies , Unwatched , iTunes Store and not Home Videos

(iTunes 12.4.1.6 OSX10.8.5)

Thanks in advance

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    Hi Walkes9,

Thank for checking out the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're having issues with viewing your Home Videos in iTunes. I can understand wanting to make sure that you're able to access all of your videos.

It sounds like the iTunes media folder may have been rebuilt incorrectly when it was moved in to iTunes but there are some things that you can do. The first thing I recommend to try is to move your iTunes media over using migration assistant. You can follow the steps for Use Migration Assistant in the following article.

If you're still having trouble, you can also try moving the iTunes media folder to a test user on your Mac to see if the same thing happens. You can use the shared folder to move your media from one user to another so that it doesn't interfere with permissions of your content.
