Q: Entire Library Not Syncing

I recently purchased an iPod (6th Gen, 64GB, v9.3.2) and downloaded iTunes 12. O/S is Windows-10 Pro.

I have 5,600 songs in my music library on my PC. Only 3,800 transferred over to the iPod. These are CD's I've loaded and not purchases. How can I sync my entire library? Or put another way, why didn't the entire library sync?

Look at step 5 in this article:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

Did you select your "Entire music library" or only "Selected playlists, etc."?

The link you provided is what I've been doing and yet the Music library on the iPod is a far cry from what's on the PC.

I'm wondering if I'd do well to reset the iPod and try again...thoughts?

One other thought that may be worth a try is to consolidate you music library (if you haven't already). See this link

iTunes 12 for Windows: Change where your iTunes files are stored

Could you have run out of storage on your iPod?

As a last resort, this link may aso help:

There's in excess of 28GB of available space on the iPod.

'Consolidate Files' is grayed out, not sure why. Please see attached.

I did 'Organize' the Library, no changes.

This is really perplexing....

Yes, this is most perplexing. I assume the "Consolidate Files" is greyed out because your library is already consolidated. Are the ONLY songs that didn't transfer the ones you imported from CDs?

My last suggestion is step 4 in this link (which, admittedly is a long shot):

Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
