Q: Mac Mini Hard Drive
Lsat night my Mac Mini unexpectedly crashed. My screen went back and I could hear what I was listening to for maybe 5-10 more seconds, then it shut down. It did try to restart itself, but there were vertical bars across the screen and it would only load half way. Tried again, same thing. So my hard drive is kaput, I'd say. First question: how hard is it to replace a HD in a Mac mini, and what is the best HD? Ideal would be at least 500GB. I'd love to tell you exactly how old my Mini is, but I can't get to that info. My best guess is 2012.
My next question is whether I can use my old 2007 (I think) MBP to access some of my files. Or even better, if I can partition it. I recently upgraded to El Capitan on my Mini.
I'm pretty anxious being without a desktop, so I'm hoping I can replace/fix my HD soon. I can't afford a new Mini, so as difficult as it looks, I'm hoping HD replacement isn't too involved.
