Q: Iphone 5 Wont charge

So it has 0% and is dead.

I had it connected to a bluetooth soeaker and it ran out,i went to charge it and the usb plug had 2 pins snapped,so I connected it to my laptop with itunes instead.

First thing i noticed was itunes didnt interrupt any of my games, wasnt even open when i tabbed out.

Abiut an hour later i went to text someone and it still was showing the black screen with white and red battery (when i knew something was wrong)

i tried it in the wall socket with another plug, still didnt work.

Ive cleaned out the plug socket with a paperclip and a sharened ear bud(q pick?)

The actual charger sits completley inside the port, nothing sticks out.

HOWEVER

There was no other cable avaliable for me to try,but i got this about 2 days ago so i ruled this out(its from poundland though so probably why but still wantred to make this)

If anyone can help i would greatly apprectiate it.

Thanks in advance

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.2, screen cracked.

    Hi FinnFromNewcastle,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Based on your post, I understand that you are having an issue with your iPhone charging. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to contact us, and I imagine you are ready to get this charging issue resolved. I have something that I would like you to try.

Please complete the steps in If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge and try to see if your iPhone starts charging, specifically, this section:

If your device won’t charge or charges slowly

If you have very low battery and plug into power, a black screen or a black screen with a red battery might appear for a few minutes. Follow these steps and try again after each:

    1. Check your charging cable and USB adapter for signs of damage,* like breakage or bent prongs. Don't use damaged accessories.
Lightning to USB and a USB wall adapter
    2. Use a wall power outlet and check for firm connections between your charging cable, USB wall adapter, and wall outlet, or try a different outlet.
    3. Remove any debris from the charging port on the bottom of your device, then firmly plug your charging cable into your device. If the charging port is damaged, your device probably needs service.
The lightning port on the iPhone 6s
    4. Let your device charge for a half hour (If your device is unresponsive afterward, learn what to do).
    5. Force restart your device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. Then let your device charge for another half hour.
    6. If your device still won’t power on or charge, take your device, charging cable, and charging adapter to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation. You can also contact Apple Support.

*If you're unsure about whether an accessory is damaged, take it to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation, or contact Apple Support.

    Best Regards.
