Q: MacBook 12" boot from Target Disk Mode
HI all,
Hoping someone can help. I have a MacBook Pro 13" retina and a Thunderbolt Display that I use for work and really like the idea of the 12" MacBook for portability. Now before someone comments - IM WELL AWARE THE 12 MACBOOK WILL NOT WORK WITH THE THUNDERBOLT DISPLAY by way of connectivity directly
However, before I lose faith entirely, would there be some way that I could use the 12 MacBook in conjunction with the MacBook 13 and Thunderbolt Display?
I have read that target disk mode is supported on the 12" MacBook, which has got me thinking - could I boot the MacBook Pro 13" from the MacBook 12" HD in TDM whilst connected to the thunderbolt display?
If this doesn't work, is there another way? I'm assuming not.
Thanks in advance.

No.
Target Disk mode on the 12" Retina MacBook allows file access, but it is not bootable, and it does not support either Setup or Migration Assistant. It will appear as an external USB drive, but files would need to be transferred manually.
