Q: Can't get an app to install after iPod's reset

I have an older, 4th gen iPod Touch with iOS 6. I have bought and used an app iA Writer. Recently I had to do a reset and reinstall everything on it. Weirdly, that one app didn't. Trying to install it manually from iTunes didn't work. t assumed it's because there's already newer, iOS6-incompatible version out, so I opened App Store to download latest compatible version. Unfortunately, it shows that I have to buy it again. What gives?

I can help you with getting your app back on your iPod. If you are having issues redownloading your app directly from the App Store or iTunes, try checking your purchase history in the iTunes app to redownload. You may also be able to download an older version of the app that is compatible with your iOS. The links below can assist you with those steps:

Download your past purchases
Install an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X

Just note that a version compatible with iOS 6.1.6 may not be available. Thus, if you do not have a compatible version in your iTunes App library you are out of luck.
