Q: To do list on Calendar has disappeared??

I have kept a to do list on my calendar where I keep all my monthly bills that need to be paid. Since my upgrade to Maverick I cannot find the list in calendar. Does this list exist in the new calendar format?

Appreciate any help.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thanks. I did send feedback to Apple, for what it's worth, to voice my feelings.....

Check out iTriumph by Chronos. It has a very nice interface and handles todo's/tasks too. Works with reminders, and calendar by Apple and offers a few mice extras.

Yes, it is an iCloud client, just like iCal.

I would like to chime in and say I hate and loathe the way Calendar has been broken up into multiple apps. Reminder is a poorly designed and crappy substitute for an integrated Task List, and I hate it. I am certain the thinking was that people using iOS want discrete apps they can open one at a time, but frankly I hate the way it works on the phone as well as on the desktop. I need an integrated Calendar and To Do list on one screen. I'm going to give Apple through the next big OS update to fix it, but if they persist in making Apple software LESS functional (e.g., Pages and Mail also verging on non-functional), I will give up and buy third party programs. As you can tell from my tone, I am completely irritated, as I have just been sitting here trying to organize my day and having a terrible time of it. What a waste!  If you find it to be as much of a pain as I do, please go to the Feedback window for Calendar and say something.

Just purchased a Mac Pro desktop.. migrated everything from my iMac / 27" desktop OSX 10.6.8. Now running OSX 10.10.05.

First like many here I am annoyed that there is a functional change (iCal) I need to deal with besides getting this machine up and running. This means additional time spent patching something that should have been at worst an "opt in/out" situation. This is going to eat up part of or all of a day as I try and recover then implement an new system that incorporates the original function. I do not need separate functions. I need an integrated function as many users have already noted.

Second the use of colour coded file folders has been changed it now provides a small dot to the right of the folder and it's a sort function. So visual recognition and selection is now less easily accomplished and the colour codes do a sort ... If I needed a sort I can use the spotlight function. So what is this change achieving? More workarounds and time spent trying to get things back into a smooth work environment. Previous 'bold' visual clues have been dialed down for what? The superficial overview of a new visual interface on the screen? Someone's lost their direction with this idea which is miles off target of user efficiency. The original did the job, this does a second rate job.

Third Apple has now gone to using Microsoft terminology "ribbon" .... really? I use a pc at work and it's fine but don't start emulating another OS terminology it's confusing and useless.

Based on these 'upgrades' to the OSX environment I'm hesitant to move toward El Capitan. I don't need more "manufactured work" for Mac Users from Apple's software division. These changes for change sake is the kind of 'busy work' that's a sign of a non creative management group. Function and form shouldn't be toys for playing around unless it's an opt in/out situation. Stop it!

Reminders is still a jumble on the iPhone and it's now October, 2015!

Maybe I should just use my time machine to ditch this upgrade.....and complain to Apple.

+1 for this 'Apple busy work' making users life "a learning curve instead of a using curve" Apple needs to make these revisons 'opt in' and not a universal conscription of it's user base IMO

@ Newkki... Wow! I think you  could be my doppelganger. I'll second anything you write anytime.

@ Apple...This upgrade from 10.6.8 to 10.10.5 Yosemite has been an exercise in frustration for what? Hours I've spent setting up 10.6.8 in usable personal system only to have it retooled for the people that believe everyone in the planet wants to be on their iphone all times? Someone's made a mistake in this assessment of the desktop user base. It would be great to see these changes as 'opt in' as Newkki has suggested

I'm also holding off on El Capitan and I don't need the former color codes now a sort system that's been overlaid the colour codes with a tiny dot. The visual clues are painful. Get some 'non power users' to give you feedback and stop the forced "user base conscription" implementation concept
    That's my 2¢

As noted, Apple isn't reading here.
