Apple Watch
Hi
For the purpose of crediting the hourly Stand achievement, your watch aims to identify when you have stood up and moved around for at least one minute during that hour. Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so arm movement equivalent to changing from a seated to a standing position followed by a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally should help to register this.
The following steps may also help:
- Check that Wrist Detection is still enabled:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.
- Check that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly on the top of your wrist. If worn too loosely, your watch can incorrectly believe that it has been removed from your wrist, causing it to lock and stop tracking your activity:
- It may help to calibrate your watch (instructions via the link below). Calibration enables your watch to more accurately estimate various fitness and activity-related results. It does this by teaching your watch how your arm moves when you are walking and/or running.
- It may first help to reset any existing calibration data and then start this process afresh:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > tap on Reset Calibration Data.
- Instructions: Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support
- Activity estimations also depend on your personal information. To check that this has been entered accurately (and to update it over time):
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Health > Edit (upper-right).
