Q: phone call problem iphone 5s

when i receive my call, the phone vibrates for 8-9 second and i cannot hear anything. also while making the calls, i cannot hear anything after receiving my call at other end. sometimes, the phone freezes at call log screen after making the calls too. i reset the phone and network settings. but the problem continues. what should i do?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2, problem is in ios 9.2 and also 9.3

    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding you're unable to hear through your iPhone receiver when on a call. I can definitely understand your concern. I am happy to help.

    You've done a great job trying to resolve this on your own! The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Please try these steps to clear the receiver. Test the issue after each step.:
     

    • Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
      If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
    • Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    • While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location

    If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't clear on your iPhone

    If the issue persists please follow the steps to test the receiver in the "Check the receiver" section in the link above.

    Hi JovonaP.

    Thank you for the valuable information, really appreciated. But the problem still continues. I tried every points written in the link but my receiver is ok. The voice memo recording works fine and sound is normal. Main problem is vibrating for early 8 seconds as soon as i receive the call with no sound thereafter and no volume control display at that time. No further support in my country(Nepal). Helpless!
