You need more RAM for sure, 16GB minimum, despite what Apple posts.

I'd also be concerned about your drive.  What's the capacity, how much free space?

But RAM, that's something you'll definitely get use out of.

No, low RAM will not show up in the CPU meter, as the CPU is working with the data it can get it hands on.  Low RAM simply means ti doesn't get its hands on very much data at a time.

1. If your MBP has dual graphics adapters, one hardware the second software (to extend battery life) You will need to go into System Preferences... probably Display and disable automatic display switching. This will force the hardware adapter to handle all the graphics.

2. Do Not run any other software in the background, especially the Firefox browser.

Restart the machine, run only Logic, any improvement?

What about the Graphics adapters? Does your model have switching? Do check.

Uncheck the Switching graphics if you have it.

It's in Energy Saver and it's called Automatic Graphics Switching, Disable it, reboot and see if the situation improves.
