Q: Change Apple ID on iPhone to use with family sharing

I currently have 3 - iPhone 6, 1 - iPod touch 5g, and 1 - iPad Air2. setup All sharing one apple ID.

 

I am looking to take one of the iPhone's off my apple ID to allow my daughter to have full control off her own apple ID account when she goes off to college this fall. What steps do I need to take to remove her phone from my apple id and set it up on her her own apple id. If possible, I want to be able to keep all her apps and music that is on her phone now. How can we get just her music and apps to her laptop. Currently I do not have family sharing setup, is this the way to go?

    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I see that you're interested in creating a new Apple ID for your daughter but a bit concerned about the best way to do so. I understand the importance of your daughter having her own account. I am happy to help.

     

    The following link provide steps on how to create an Apple ID and additional information:

    When you create a new ID the data and purchases aren't moved from the old Apple ID to a new one. Apps previously downloaded with the old ID will still work but will require the password for the old ID to update. Music synced from the computer will remain on the phone and play as expected. If your using Apple Music all playlists and music will need to be added again. You can definitely use Family Sharing which will also you to share eligible songs, albums, movies, TV shows, books and apps that were purchased by family members.
