Q: How do I edit i movie

Open the section "Add video Effects" (http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/mov29c0961af).
To burn a video DVD, export the edited movie as a video file; either share to iTines (http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/movfe89b94a2) or export a QuickTIme movie.
You will need authoring software - iDVD or similar - to burn the export video to a DVD to be played in a DVD player. To burn a dada DVD you can use the Finder.

my main interest is editing a video transferred from a camcorder via "honestech VID BOX" it is then transferred to I movie. I want to not copy all of a video as many sequence are too long.
I will also investigate turning the product into a DVD . I downloaded "silverlight Dmg" for burning to a DVD but have not tried it yet.
