Q: How to fit more piano keys on-screen
On GarageBand for my iPhone 5s, I'm trying to make a piece of music on the keyboard feature. However, you're limited to about 9 or 10 keys on which to make a melody and it's hard to side scroll to either higher or lower keys during a recording, and it's a faff to have to record over something to be able to fit the keys in which you want. Is there nay way of adding more keys to the screen on the keyboard feature?

There seems to be no way to increase the number of keys. But you can tap the areas outside the keyboard for additional notes. http://help.apple.com/garageband/iphone/1.4/index.html#chs39282dbe
Play higher or lower on the keyboard:
- Tap the Octave Up and Down Up buttons to move up or down by octaves.
While you are playing the keyboard, notice that the areas to the left of the lowest key and to the right of the highest key also produce sound when tapped.
But you could play the notes an octave higher and later transpose them:
- Select one or more notes, then drag the selected notes up or down. For Drums tracks, moving notes up or down changes the drum sound for the notes.
