Q: How many 2K Monitors (21:9 3440x1440) via T2 can the new MAC PRO (late2013-cilinder) Suport?

Hello everyone,

I have the new MAC PRO (late2013-cylinder,  3.7Ghz 4-core Processor,  64G RAM,  AMD FirePro D700-6G Video) and I need to connect as many UltraWide 21:9  (3440X1440) monitors as possible, but I will like to know how many I can before purchasing the monitors.

From the Technical Specifications on Apple's site I learned that I could connect up to SIX Normal-Displays, OR up to FOUR 4K-Displays, OR up to THREE 5K-Displays, but there is no hint of how many 2K-Displays would work.

The Monitors that I have in mind to buy are the 34" 21:9 (WQHD IPS 3440X1440) LG 34UC97 or LG 34UC98, to be connected via Thunderbolt 2.

I will really appreciate your help with this,

Thank you anticipated,

Daniel

    This is not clear.

Use multiple displays with your Mac Pro (Late 2013) - Apple Support

    It includes:

You can connect up to six of the following properly-configured displays to your Mac Pro (Late 2013).

    • Six Apple Thunderbolt Displays (27-inch), Apple LED Cinema Displays (27-inch), or third-party Mini DisplayPort displays.
    • Three 4K displays: two connected via Mini DisplayPort and one connected via HDMI.
    • One 4K Ultra HD TV or 4K display using HDMI and four Apple Thunderbolt Displays (27-inch), Apple LED Cinema Displays (27-inch), or third-party Mini DisplayPort displays.
    • Two HDMI (HD or 4K) devices: one connected via HDMI and one connected via Mini DisplayPort with an HDMI adapter.
    • Six DVI displays. This configuration requires an active DVI adapter.

Your proposed monitors have a displayport and HDMI input. What concerns me is that it supports 3 4K monitors, two via Thunderbolt/mini displayport and one via HDMI. I do not know why it says that instead of also specify that you can use three TB/mdp connections.

    Hi,

I´m very interested in your setup idea. Did you buy any of the monitors and are they working with the Mac Pro?

    Thanks.
