Find the iTunes Media folder

By default, your iTunes Media folder is in your iTunes folder:

  • Mac: Finder > username > Music
  • Windows Vista or later: \Users\username\Music\
  • Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\

If the folder isn't in its default location, you can find where it's located using these steps:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: Hold down the Control and B keys on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar, then choose Edit > Preferences. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
    iTunes advanced preferences

Why don't you actually read the answers given, in both this thread and the other one on the same subject in which you're participating? It makes me wonder if you really want an answer or are just a troll.

You asked for a phone number or email to Apple. You were provided that information. Now you want someone here to answer. This is a user to user support forum. No one from Apple participates here. You need to make up your mind what it is that you want.

If you just want your library, you do not need to go to Program Files. Also, if you know anything about Windows, copying something from Program files does not copy the program, as files for programs exist in numerous locations on the computer. If you wish to get your iTunes media files, you have to know where you located them. Generally they are in the Music folder on the computer, depending on what version of Windows you are using. If you wish to consolidate your library in iTunes, you need to rephrase your question in plain English, since I have no idea what an "advanced brmenu to consolidate my songa" is, or means.

And please, tone down the font, it does nothing to enhance your request, it just makes it more difficult to read and respond to.

Migrate an iTunes library from one computer to another

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.

    Method 1

    1. Backup the library with this User Tip.
    2. Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
    3. Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
    4. Keep your backup up-to-date in future.

    Method 2

Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.

Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.

I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.

Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.

If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See Make a split library portable.

Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
