Q: photos deleted from iCloud

I have photos on my iPad and different ones on my mac; I did not want to use the cloud any longer for photos, so deleted all pictures on the cloud.  I didn't realize that after 30 days all the photos on my two devices will be deleted.  How do I prevent the photos on my mac and iPad from being deleted when the 30 days is up on the cloud?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

On your Mac go to Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Photos Options and turn off iCloud Photo Library.

On your iPhone go to Settings > iCloud > Photos and turn off iCloud Photo Library.

If you had Optimize Photos turned on in either of the above (on the Settings > iCloud > Photos screen on your iPhone or in Photos Preferences on your Mac) you will need to Download Originals first.

Thank you.  I assume that if I have the iCloud photo library turned off on both the mac and the iPad no pictures will be deleted and they also would not be copied from one device to another?  I am using a different method of backing up photos, so didn't feel I needed to use the photo library.  Thanks again, Loveopera

    That is correct.
