Q: Numbers bug?  Can't refer to same cell twice in formula?

So, have run into a problem.  Was using Numbers to calculate how much greater the cost of a MacBook Pro was than a MacBook Air in terms of %.

Entered the MBP price in one cell.  Below that, put in the MBA price.  Then, below that, entered a formula

(A1-B1)/B1   by tapping on the cells in question.

It wouldn't accept the 2nd reference to B1  !!!!

I quit Numbers, reopened and tried again.  No dice.   Quit Numbers again and opened up a new spreadsheet document and entered, 7, 4, and tried calculating the difference as a % of the base.  No go.  It refuses to let me enter the reference to the second cell in the denominator.  When I tap on the cell that has the MBA price in it, it simply flashes the prior entry.  However, if I pick a different cell, it has no problem.

Note:  instead of the / indicated above I used the iOS divide by symbol In the formula pad.  I realize that I could just do the subtraction and then compare the difference to the base in another cell, but any other spreadsheet I've ever used permits such a reference.

Anyone else encountered this limit or bug?  Can anyone else confirm it?

P.S.  I found a workaround.  IF one taps just behind the cell in the formula, then holds and picks Select, mthough cell reference lights up.  One can then copy it and, after tapping at the end of the formula, paste the 2nd reference in.  But merely tapping directly on the cell does NOT work.  At least not in my copy of Numbers!  (Which I have just confirmed is the latest!  I'm also using 9.3.2)
