Jul 4, 2016 8:57 AM in response to averysumnerby alex_oz,Hello averysumner,
Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important recovering the space on your hard drive is to you! It sounds like you want to enlarge the Macintosh HD volume, and since this is the volume with the OS X on it, you will have to do this in Disk Utility in the OS X Recovery Mode:
Disk Utility (El Capitan): Partition a physical disk

Jul 4, 2016 9:03 AM in response to averysumnerby Csound1,BootCamp partitions MUST only be removed with BootCamp, using Disk Utility leaves you in this place, and you won't get out of it without erasing the entire disk. So backup and erase the disk, then restore the backup to the disk.

You probably need to boot from the recovery partition (hold command-R at startup) and:
- open Disk Utility
- select the whole drive (labeled "APPLE HDD ...", not the Macintosh HD volume)
- click on Partition
- enlarge the size of the partition to include the free space after it.

And that was your mistake. You need to use the Bootcamp Utility to delete a Bootcamp partition.

Jul 4, 2016 11:50 AM in response to alex_ozby averysumner,I already tried enlarging it with disk utility in recovery mode, but "APPLE HDD" (What has Macintosh HD on it) says that Macintosh HD already takes up the full TB. And when I go into Macintosh HD, it says otherwise. Also, when I try to use Partition to resize it I always get an error saying: "The requested size change for the target disk or a related disk is too small. Please try a different disk or partition, or make a larger change."

Jul 4, 2016 11:58 AM in response to averysumnerby Csound1,I already gave you the method, but in case you did not notice
Backup your drive
Erase your drive
Reformat your drive
Restore your drive from your backup.
Only way that will work
