This is really odd. I was using my macbook Air perfectly fine and I left the house. When i came back the screen was black and wouldn't show anything but it chimes when I boot it. Rarely it shows colorful vertical lines or a drained battery symbol (yes I charge it but when the vertical lines and the screen only come up after i drain the battery). One time i got lucky and it showed the apple logo and it booted but it took me to a screen where it asked me to reset my password and i tried but it said there was a problem connecting to the server. I tried restarting the macbook and back to the black screen i went. I've trued resetting the SMC and the PRAM multiple times but nothing. I've also noticed that the batter gets very overheated.
