Q: Apple Music app deleted itself and all music from my phone
Twice in the past two weeks, Apple Music has deleted itself entirely from my phone, taking all my downloaded music along with it.
This is supremely annoying, as I bought my 128GB SD card specifically to download a ton of (almost exclusively my own iCloud library) music to my phone to listen to offline or without buffering when I have poor cell reception (and without eating into my data plan). Having to re-download all that music is a huge pain. Luckily, I only lost 7GB the first time and only 2GB the second. But to re-do the work of downloading albums is a major pain, especially since I ultimately hope to download a LOT more to the phone.
So, these are the specifics of my situation:
Phone: Moto X Pure Edition w 32GB on-board memory
OS: Android 6.0
External memory: SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSD XC UHS-I Class 10 memory
External memory format: permanent/adopted storage
Apple Music Storage configured for External Storage
Phone is encrypted
Before all this started happening, I attempted several times to "migrate" app and data to my external storage from the phone's Settings>Storage. It continually failed, midway through. After messing with this, my phone seemed to cleared ALL apps' cache, requiring me to re-provide credentials for all my credentialed apps. After doing this, I manually migrated a bunch of apps' storage from internal to external with no issues. By far, the app with the most data was Apple Music (7.4GB at that time). I had no operational issues with any of my other apps whose data was migrated.
Occasionally, my phone reboots itself. It feels like this is happening more frequently after I migrated my app data to external storage. Twice, upon reboot, I find that the Apple Music app is completely gone, along with any trace of the music I've downloaded.
Has anyone else experienced this problem??
