Q: Login window

I need help because i'm pretty desperate now.

Here's the thing, on my login window there's 2 users, mine and guest that is using "other" as a name. for 1 year after i bought this mac, there's only 1 account and that's mine. About 3 months ago, this "other" account appeared and i got confused, i check my guest account every time i log in, but it's still in deactivate state but there's a picture of it in my login window. Then, i tried to log in to the guest account, the account asked my username and my pass, i typed in my admin username and pass, but it's directed back to my admin account.

Here's the question, How Do I Delete This Guest Account? (*note: it's in deactivate state but the account appeared)

Sorry for all the trouble, I hope u can help me. And if the support team see this, I really need your help.

Perhaps you enabled the Root User.

How to disable the root user

    OS X Lion and later

    1. From the Apple menu choose System Preferences.
    2. From the View menu choose Users & Groups.
    3. Click on the lock and authenticate with an administrator account.
    4. Click Login Options.
    5. Click the Edit button or Join button.
    6. Click the Open Directory Utility button.
    7. Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
    8. Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
    9. Choose Disable Root User from the Edit menu.

Clarification question - when you go to System Preferences/Users & Groups, how many accounts are shown? It sounds like your admin account and the guest account. Is that correct?

open system preferences > open the pad lock by entering user name & password and do the settings as in screen shot .

note : an administrator has priviledges to do any changes in the system for example can even enter root user account but guests have no rights .
