Q: Retrocopatibility between the latest Mac OS and older Mac Mini

Hi,

I´m trying to buy a used Mac Mini for my son but I want a machine that can use the latest Mac OS today and at least the next OS.

I know that older machines cannot use the most recent OS (I had this problem with a MacBookPro). Where can I find information about this to avoid buy a too much old and limited machine in this regard?

I would enter the serial number of the Mac in to the Everymac website. This will give you all the information you need.

The Mac mini 2010 aka. Mac mini 4,1 or later support both El Capitan (the current version) and macOS Sierra (the next version) of the Mac operating system. While older Mac mini models also support El Capitan they will not support Sierra.
