Q: How do I restore files from the trash?
I have the entire music files in the trash by mistake; how do I restore them back?

No worries, just drag the files from the trash back into your iTunes library folder where they came from. If the structure is complicated this may take a while and there is potential for library discrepancies. However there is another option as well.If this is everything that you had in iTunes, like, Apps, Music, Movies, Podcats, etc. you could simply create a new library with them. To do so:
1. Start by dragging them to a new folder on your desktop
2. Create a new iTunes library with this article:
Open a different iTunes Library file or create a new one
3. Import the contents of the folder to the new iTunes library
iTunes 12 for Mac: Import music and video already on your computer
That should get everything back into a fresh new library. It will not have things like Play Counts, Ratings, etc. just FYI. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
