Q: Photos "Creating a Photo Book"

I have created a photo book using Photos on Mac.

Whenever I get to the final stage of ordering the book it says "Unexpected Error - Please try again later". I have continually tried again later and it is still not working.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello angelageog,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are getting an unexpected error has occurred message when trying to order a project in Photos. I create and order books as well in the Photos app, so I know how important it is we get this issue resolved. I have something for you to try.

I advise to check your Internet connection, then make sure that you're using the latest version of Photos and that your Apple ID billing information is up to date. Also, use If you can‘t order prints or projects, from Apple using iPhoto, specifically, this section:

If you see an “unexpected error has occurred” message

When you try to place an order, you might see a message that reads "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later."

To fix this issue, update your information in the Apple Online Store:

    1. Go to your Apple Store Account.
    2. Under Account Settings, click "Update your Apple ID email address and password."
    3. If asked, sign in with your Apple ID and password.
    4. Next to Payment Information, click Edit.
    5. Re-enter all of your information as it appears on your credit card statement, then click Save.

    Have a great day!

The error message will also occur, if Photos is not able to connect to the Print Products Store. Possible reasons could be:

    • The Print Products Store may be down or too busy, then "Try again later" might help.
    • Your network might be too slow and causing time outs
    • Or a fire wall or anti virus software could be blocking the access to the store.  Are you using any fire walls or anti virus software likeLittle Snitch or Kapersky?

    Are you in Australia?

And are you trying to order from the Australian Print products Store?

The Print Products Store you are ordering from is set in the Photos Preferences > General.

The country of this store needs to be the same as the country of the billing address you are using, the delivery address you are shipping to, and the country of your credit card.
