Q: iCloud problem
I am on a iMac that is approx. 8 years old. I am using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. I also have an iPhone 6S. My account is linked. However, right now I have iCloud turned off on both devices.
I started having the problem of a box popping up with a message that says, "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with (then in parentheses is my e-mail address)." It goes on to say, "Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem."
I have turned to Google, Youtube, and in Second Life the Mac users community. However no has been able to give me a solution that fixes this problem. I have iCloud turned off until I can find a solution that solves my problem.
On Youtube there was a video that said if I went to about this Mac and my serial number was Unavailable then that fix was for me. However, when I go to About This Mac, my serial number appears. So I did not follow the directions in that video.
I deleted my account. Then I re-added it. That did not solve my problem.
I am turned off iCloud by checking the box and choosing yes to delete off Mac. I re-checked the box. Then I restarted my computer. That also did not solve this problem I am having.
I have also tried just restarting my computer, but that does not work either.
One other thing I noticed, but also am having trouble with. Is that when I go to iCloud preferences there is a message that says, "This is not your primary iCloud account. Only your primary account can use iCloud for Safari, Photos, Documents, Keychain, Back to My Mac, or Find My Mac." However, no matter where I look, I cannot find where my primary e-mail address is listed.
How do I find my primary e-mail address for my iCloud account?
How do I solve the problem of This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with my e-mail address?
