Q: Can I exit out of my Family Sharing Plan and then return to it shortly after?

I want to buy something on my account with my gift card but in order for my to buy the app it gets charged to my dad's "master account's" credit card. I just want to exit the plan just to purchase it and then quickly rejoin it.

    Hi there, arsmars!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I am understanding you want to temporarily leave your family group so you can add an iTunes gift card, and then rejoin the family group. I definitely see the benefit in making a purchase with your gift card instead of using the family organizer's credit card, and would be happy to help you do that!

The good news is that you don't need to leave the family group in order to redeem and use your gift card; simply follow the instructions under the "Redeem your iTunes Gift Cards and codes" section of the article linked below. Your gift card balance will then be tied to your Apple ID only; purchases you make in the iTunes and App Stores will deduct from your gift card balance first, then the family organizer's credit card once the gift card balance has been exhausted.
