Q: Iphone connection

I can't get itunes to recognize my iphone. I have a pc with Windows 8. When I plug my phone up it opens in phone companion app. I have checked my iTunes update and phone. Both are updated to the latest version why can't I open my phone in iTunes anymore?

I tried this. My phone is still not connecting to itunes. It appears in my files Explorer under my pc. My drivers are all up to date.
