Nov 24, 2015 2:29 PM in response to Saphiredby RobNYC,I'm having this problem too. Some songs don't show up and some that I just recently purchased from iTunes show up but can't be played within the playlist. They're kind of grayed out. I restarted and turned off iTunes match and back on again but same problem.

Feb 6, 2016 3:03 AM in response to Saphiredby neilfs,I had exactly the same problem. In recent versions of iTunes despite you authorising the device and everything you once did as normal I found my computer was different to my iOS devices. Now my iPhone and AppleTV matched. My computer could download music purchased so it was joining in but playlists were all out of sync.
Anyway I stumbled across the option which I'd never used previously so they've changed it in recent times and by the looks of things defaulted it to off.
Simply get into "Preferences" on Windows that's the little button top left of iTunes window or CTRL+, on the Mac it's off the Apple menu if memory services me correctly.
Under the "General" tab tick the box marked "iCloud Music Library (your@account.email)"
Click okay.
Now I was a little worried as I had created a good number of playlists on my computer and I was worried iCloud would take precedence and remove them however luckily the merge seemed to give precedence to what was on iTunes.
All fixed. I also had to enable on my Mac iTunes as well and now I have harmony across all my devices.
Hope this helps.

May 3, 2016 5:44 PM in response to Saphiredby John Whiteside,Syncing playlists simply doesn't work. My Apple TV is always a week or so behind the music on my other devices. Very annoying since I use it quite a bit to listen to music at home; it would be nice if it just worked.

May 25, 2016 11:58 AM in response to John Whitesideby J Bertram,Just got the new Apple TV. My playlists that I have on iTunes are not accessible from this new Apple TV. Any way to find my iTunes playlists from the new Apple TV?

May 25, 2016 6:06 PM in response to J Bertramby Lost in Asia,Just on the off-chance: how long have you had the problem? I found that after I registered with Apple Music, my Apple TV didn't seem to recognize the service for about a day. Now it works fine. I tried turning on and off a few times and that didn't help; going to bed and trying again the next day did "help".

May 25, 2016 6:41 PM in response to Lost in Asiaby J Bertram,iTunes was updated to 12.4 on the 16th of May. This is when my Aperture photo library was no longer recognized by iTunes and my photos were removed from my iPhone 6 when I synced it immediately after upgrading iTunes. The Apple TV can not see my photos here from my iMac because I can not set the new iTunes to share any of my previous Aperture photo library because it is no longer recognized by iTunes.
This is all due to Apple making you and I now upload our photos and contacts... and probably soon our music to their servers and we will have to sync over iCloud and local syncing will no longer work.
I remember when the iPhone came out in 2007. I was very excited to finally be able to sync what I had on my computer with what was on my phone. I am now equally frustrated that in order to continue to do this, I must upload all of my life onto Apples iCloud server.

Jun 4, 2016 10:07 AM in response to J Bertramby jlindstr,Just finished a call with Apple Support.
Apple TV version 3 and older will not support synchronizing of Apple Music Playlists.
This feature is only provided in Apple TV version 4.

Jun 4, 2016 10:08 AM in response to jlindstrby jlindstr,You can play your Apple Music Playlists on Apple TV gen 3 by using Air Play from my iPad or iPhone to the Apple TV.
Not optimal, but it's an option provided you have one of those devices.

Jul 8, 2016 10:02 AM in response to Saphiredby aes1982,I had the same problem and just found a solution that works for me. The problem was that my playlists where set to be shared by default. As soon as I turned off "sharing" all playlists updated automatically on my Apple TV. You can turn off sharing on your iPhone or iPad when you click on "edit" when you are in a playlist. When you click edit the toggle for switching it off will appear. Hope this helps.
