Q: Beta css to eliminate duplicate words  and white space in ASC List headers

I use the /content for all my list of ASC discussion topics The /header area for my posts contains excessive redundancy and white space. Turningtest2 has all link on this page with /content

You do not need to make any changes when used with the combined css user style sheet.

https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7501

Should you use standalone you will need to change one number. Find line 70 and change.

top: -120px !important;   /* === if you want to run this with out the main css, change from -120 to -80px === */

example: https://discussions.apple.com/content?filterID=following~objecttype~objecttype%5 Bthread%5D

Here is what my /content list looks like in an unmodified safari. Only one discussion is seen on the first page.  Yet, seeing a list of discussions is the whole purpose of this web page.  Should focus on meeting the purpose of the page, instead of fill it up with a grab bag of stuff.

With the css modifications, notice how I can see six of the discussions that I am participating in instead of just one. Notice, how the sidebar has been changed to a horizontal nav bar and I still get more discussions listed than the stock web page.  I got rid of the worthless block display icon. Everything else is still present, in considerable less space.  I'd do some more tweaking to better align things and adjust size of the items, but there is only so much I can do with css.

    Okie dokie...

    • I use Firefox 47.0.1
    • I prefer Zoom "plus one TWO" = CMD + 0 THEN CMD + 1 TWICE = text size is good, and margins are tolerable

see BOTTOM for my "home base" forum list (my reloadEvery 20 minutes page)

    • when I visit Content page as you illustrate
    • I simply hit "Page Down" key one time and POOF goes the white space

But a page down will have the first line disappear.   I want to be able to glance at the screen and see any new activity.  One line display is too little. I do not do any email notifications.

At one time, I was thinking of ditching the entire top of the screen. Since I have bookmarked authored, I have no need for the stuff at the top, but I figure that is a little radical for public consumption.

    What ever floats your boat.

I will test again, but I do not find first line disappears - only the "column heading titles" disappear

(see the points of the red arrows - they are the bottom of initial page draw & top of Page Down, respectively)

I get the same effect with my Zoom + TWO (slight difference with CONTENT [top right of page link] page... it shows the column headings with Page Down)

You have already done the work to massage it they way you want... I am getting used to it.

All of tt2's Minimal adaptions were adopted by Apple (with a couple of exceptions - COLOR for UNread is my favorite = jumps off the page)

    Thanks for testing.

I see the first line too.  I'll look into this in a moment.

    No problemo.

Tested again - Using ASC "/content" page = Zoom + TWICE (my pref) == Page Down key jumped to the top of the first thread's 'table row' (<tr class="js-browse-item" data-object-id=7608952 data-object-type="1">)

Too easy for me to handle with keyboard shortcuts!

Gimme a clue as to what to look for? I sincerely doubt that AJT would make piecemeal changes "on the fly" though.

If I do that ditch, my single keystroke to jump to the first line item at the top of the visible page is defeated!

    I'm stickin' with my WorkFlow!
