Q: Bluetooth Battery Levels on MacBook Pro 10.10.5

I have a Macbook Pro running 10.10.5 when using an external Magic Trackpad 2 or external bluetooth keyboard, the battery levels of the bluetooth devices don't show up in the Bluetooth menu or in the Trackpad and Keyboard Preference Panes. All the documentation I've checked said the battery levels should be displayed in both places. How do I get the battery levels to appear so I can know when I need to recharge the trackpad and keyboard.

    You will need to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.5.  These new trackpads apparantly only function fully with the El Cap OS.

    Someone reported a similar situaion and I thought we had sorted it out ... but unfortunately they failed to come back with a confirmation.   If this solves your problem perhaps you would confirm it; it does help others with the same problem.
