1. back up to itunes
restore and use the same backup and you get your data back
if that did not work
restore your ipod

Don't use your time with this.
OSX El Capitan here and iPhone 5.

Apple deleted some of my posts on this but I know it works. I tested it myself on an iPhone 5 and an iPad.
