Jul 10, 2016 2:08 PM in response to BobTheFishermanby nico_y_m,Hi Bob, almost, but not quite. I sort of panicked because it was very odd - thus did not memorize the instructions.
It was like a translucent black screen covering "scrolled" over my screen. It instructed me to quit, that a problem had been encountered. That is how I read it. Because I sort of panicked, I just hit the manual off. It did not restart on its own, nor did it appear at startup. I was online, etc.
Thank you…almost, but not quite.

Jul 11, 2016 5:03 PM in response to nico_y_mby nico_y_m,This issue has not been resolved, and it happened again today. The message was clear: that a problem had occurred, and that I needed to manually shut down my computer. I had Mozilla open, and was on a dating site: which is exactly what had happened last time the black "veil" and message appeared.
I wanted to take a screen shot, but could not. It appears the computer had locked. I am assuming it was a hack attempt?
I tried calling apple support, but both times I got disconnected. Maybe I'll try when they might be a little less busy.
