Q: wifi turning off

I have an iPad Air 2, 128 GB running iOS 9.3.2  From time to time, 1-2 days a week, I'll have an issue where the wifi turns off suddenly during use.  The router/source is not the issue, my phone, Amazon Fire TV, laptop, etc are not effected.  I need to go into Settings>Wi-Fi and manually turn on the wifi....and on certain days this will last 5 minutes and it turns off again, requiring it be to turned on.  Incredibly infuriating!!  I have reset and restored the ipad and nothing has solved the problem.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    "I have reset"

There's more than one type of reset so I'm not certain which one you are referring to so tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings then restart your iPad.

You will have to go to Settings > Wi-Fi and enter your Wi-Fi password.

    See if makes a difference.

If not, try the troubleshooting help provided in this support article > If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support

Even though other devices can access Wi-Fi ok, it wouldn't hurt to restart your router then try Wi-Fi on your iPad.

Below is a User Tip about Wi-Fi issues. Suggest starting from the top and working down. I know you have tried some of them and if none of them help you could have a hardware issue. Wi-Fi chips and antennas fail on occasion. Also since you have tried a restore, try it again as New, not from backup as the backup could be corrupted.

    1) Perform a Forced Restart:  Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Allow device to restart.

    2) Reset Network Settings:  Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.

    3) Reboot Router/Modem:  Unplug from power for 2 minutes and plug again. Update Router Firmware (check manufacturer’s support website for a newer FW). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (20 MHz recommended for the 2.4 band).

    4) Change to Google's DNS:  Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or alternatively 8.8.4.4

    5) Disable device prioritization on the router if this feature is available. Also disable any VPN apps and test Wi-Fi again.

    6) Determine if other Wi-Fi devices on network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).

    7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.

    8) Backup and Restore the Device using iTunes (ask for additional for details if desired).

    9) Go to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.
